The CDC wants you prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse

 Yes, you read that right

In case you start seeing zombies wandering around, the CDC has issued guidance for how to be prepared in such an event. I have to stay I find this story amusing. Obviously, the CDC is using this as a tongue and cheek way of getting people to think about being prepared for any natural or man made disaster. Here is a link to the story https://blogs.cdc.gov/publichealthmatters/2011/05/preparedness-101-zombie-apocalypse/

This story still makes me chuckle a bit. Especially the part that talks about having enough water and food stored up for at least 3 days. Umm pardon me, but for most prepper type people, 3 days of provisions is the bare minimum at any given time. Think at least 6 months!

So a few days is enough time to allow authorities to investigate the zombie outbreak and solve the problem? I don’t think so.

Is it realistic anyway?

I know it’s talked about often and people seem to have a fascination with zombies. This has been the case for many years. But let us be serious here for a moment?

How realistic is a real zombie apocalypse?

In my book, it’s close to 0% probability. Maybe that’s just me and I may be wrong on that. I can think of several other more probable scenarios that would bring about the apocalypse for humanity.

Nuclear war, complete financial collapse, super volcano eruptions and widespread long-term power outages are a few that come to my mind.

But in the very rare event that a zombie apocalypse actually happens, I just pray the zombies are slow moving! If they are fast moving like the ones in the movie World War Z, we are done! ;-)

So, a question for you. What is the most probable SHTF event? Worldwide nuclear war? Super volcano eruption? Super lethal pandemic? Or something else I have not mentioned here?

Would love to have your feedback!
